In 2007, U.S. Foodservice is sponsoring 10 regional meetings across the United States on behalf of HFM (National Society of Healthcare Foodservice Management). HFM is an organization that provides educational information for on-staff foodservice management in healthcare organizations. The title of these meetings is: “Protecting Your Facility for Natural Disasters and Pandemics – What to Do Now to Prepare”. The Uriah Group, Inc. is participating as the keynote speaker, providing assistance with panel discussions, facilitating the case studies, and providing key documents, e.g., reference manuals, policies/procedures, menus, etc.
Each meeting will last approximately 5-6 hours and include a keynote presentation on protecting the healthcare facility, panel discussion (about 1 hour), relevant interactive case studies, group work, and report outs. Attendees of these meetings will be Foodservice Directors, Assistance Directors, other management of healthcare foodservice facilities and may also include hospital administrators.
The leadership networking meeting objectives are to:
- Identify vulnerabilities and threats to your Healthcare Food Service (HCFS) operations posed by the onset of a natural disaster and/or pandemic.
- Demonstrate an understanding of crisis and risk management planning including policies and procedures for Food Safety and Quality Assurance and Continuity of Operations (COOP).
- Access the reference bibliography of industry best practices and government policies.
- Apply lessons learned to practical applications within your organization.
