The Food Industry
The Uriah Group helps companies like yours, which live day-to-day with our food supply vulnerabilities, to evaluate and improve your readiness to manage food security issues that threaten business operations. Whether you want an intensive training program for your entire staff or an analysis of your risk management strategy, we provide the services to meet your needs.
Our services are divided into three core areas: Assessment, Consulting, and Training.
Assessment
How does your food security risk management plan measure up? If an event happened, would you really be able to respond without a significant loss of business, and in a manner that preserves your brand image? Let us evaluate your plan and readiness. With our assessment offerings, you will gain the confidence of knowing you are truly prepared. Based on our extensive knowledge and experience with the National Response Plan, the Incident Command System, and CARVER Shock risk assessment, we will analyze your plans, organization, and level of preparedness. We will tell you what will work for you, and where you need to make some changes.
- Risk Assessment
- Plan Review & Assessment
- Readiness Evaluation
Consulting
Developing effective plans, aligning your business operations with those plans, and propogating plans throughout the enterprise can be a challenge—especially if you aren’t sure where to start. We help you develop plans that will help minimize the risk to your business should an incident happen. We work with you to understand your business and your unique needs and challenges. We then couple that knowledge with our experience, developing real-world risk management plans to minimize your business risk. Our planning services include:
- Business Process Reengineering
- Prevention Planning
- Response Planning
- Recovery Planning
Once your plan is in place, we will help make your procedures bulletproof with our annual Readiness Evaluations, where we review your procedures and let you know if anything needs to change based on your current business operations and changes in federal, state, or local regulations. Your plan can only work for you if it is current and applies to real-world scenarios. We will help make sure you stay current.
Training
It is important to have well thought out risk, response, and recovery plans in place. But we know that no matter how good your plan, if you’ve never tested it, it could fail you. That’s where our training programs and exercises can help. Uriah Group training exercises simulate real-world scenarios and bring stakeholders together to test your plans. We have developed scenarios that could happen to you, such as the Baxter’s Mother’s Day event, and then conduct an exercise that unfolds the way a real event would. You’ll come out of the training with a firm grasp of where your plans are strong and where they may need improvement. We offer a variety of exercises from our standard library of scenarios to those customized just for you and your business. In every case we use a multimedia approach, which includes video, written exercises, and live action to transform theory into the reality.
Our training programs build on the lessons learned throughout the exercises. You’ll learn how to transfer skills, build tools, and use techniques that will aid your planning, response, and recovery from an incident.
Our complete Risk Management Plan curriculum is designed to instruct commercial enterprises on the development of effective plans for:
